Lower Grimpstonleigh Luxury Self Catering Barns are ideally situated within a few minutes drive from Kingsbridge – with local beaches at Salcombe, Bantham, South Milton, Hope Cove and Thurlestone.
The Barns are situated in a valley of 13 acres of Devon countryside a perfect retreat after a day on the beach or walking on the moor. Top Barn, Cider Barn and Apple Cottage can accommodate four to five people each or twelve in total for a friends or family get together.
A luxurious indoor heated swimming pool is housed in an oak framed glass fronted barn opening up on a raised deck to take in the magnificent views. The pool is heated to 33 degrees. All Robes, slippers and towels are provided for you.
Inside the barns we welcome you with complimentary Hampers for a Devon Clotted Cream Tea ! Locally baked Scones Clotted Cream & Jam, Tea, Milk, Fresh coffee beans, wine, local paper, and fresh bread – and our very own Lower Grimpstonleigh cider. The bathrooms have locally produced handmade soaps and you don’t even have to pack your wellies as these are provided for you – the only decision you have to make is which colour to pick
The two Crown Pavillion heated gazebo’s are placed near to the barns and alongside these are two Webber BBQ’s for the perfect al fresco dining experience complete with a babbling stream running through the gardens. If you don’t feel like cooking, then we can arrange to have sumptuous meals brought in for you already cooked – or try some of our local restaurants and pubs.
Children have their own play/picnic area with a wooden Monkee Puzzle frame and are free to explore the fields woods and orchards at Lower Grimpstonleigh. Each barn has travel cot/highchair/stairgate .
Robes for the grownups and children,(from age 4) Beach, Bath and Pool Towels are all provided for you. The beds are made up with high quality Lexington bedding with seasonal quilts -
Smart TV’s, DVD player with a selection of films and games and free WiFi.
The water here at Lower Grimpstonleigh is our own natural spring water sourced from two bore holes – you will be drinking and washing in pure natural water – the swimming pool is also sourced from this water with just the right amount of necessary chemicals required.
There is ample parking for both cars and boats with storage facilities for bikes or kayaks should you wish to bring them. There are two kayaks and bodyboards here for your use.
Lower Grimpstonleigh is steeped in history dating back to the Domesday Book with medieval finds and continues to harvest apples for cider every year.
